Express Entry 23 March draw invites candidates with CRS score as low as 467!

Invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence were issued to Canadian Experience Class program candidates with Comprehensive Ranking System score (CRS) as low as 467 in the latest draw held on March 23rd, 2020. The cut-off score was four points lower than the last federal draw which took place on March 4th, 2020 which was for all the programs.

The Canadian Experience Class is one of the three programs under Express Entry system. Not many times the federal draw targets specific cohorts like Canadian Experience Class as the vast majority of Express Entry draws target candidates from all the programs. Last time the program-specific (CEC) draw took place was in 2015.

The previous Express Entry draw which was held on the 18th of March, 2020 targeted candidates with a Provincial Nomination (PNP) only. Such frequent draws point clearly to Canada’s 2020-2022 immigration plans to welcome more one million immigrants. Such program- specific draws are an important reminder of the various ways Express Entry candidates with lower CRS may receive an ITA.

The tie-break rule used by the IRCC in the draw was November 25, 2019, at 14:00:35. This draw brings the total number of ITAs issued so far to 22,600, through Express Entry.

This article has clearly sent a message that candidates can still go for Express Entry program even if they don’t meet the current CRS score benchmark.
